The Centenary commemoration of the Battle of Delville Wood is a high key event as alluded during the State of the Nation Address by President Zuma on 12th February 2016. We expect a high level delegation from our government and a large contingent of the South African National Defence Force.
There will also be a contingent of Military Veterans as well as representatives of the various veterans associations. This year’s ceremony will see the inauguration of a new Memorial wall and garden with inscriptions of all South African soldiers who participated during the First World War.

They will be requested to present their Identity documents to assigned officials before they proceed to the commemoration. Further security arrangements will be communicated in due course.
