The processing time for section 11(2) visitor visas and study visas is more than 90 days.
The processing time for an application for a temporary residence permit, for a long stay in the country, is 6 to 8 months and may be longer depending on the outcome of the application examined by the Department of Home Affairs in South Africa.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT-SECRETARY
Job Title: Secretary
Remuneration: € 28 876 – € 50 411
Requirements:
Minimum 12 years of schooling, Relevant post-school qualification, 3 years’ experience in a related field of work.
The candidate must be able to speak, read, write French and English fluently. The candidate must be computer literate. As a first point of contact, the candidate must have good interpersonal skills, be able to work with diverse people and positively represent the Embassy and South Africa. The candidate must be able to work independently with less supervision and must be able to manage time effectively. The candidate must have good planning organising skills. The candidate must have knowledge of South Africa and its culture. Non-French candidates must have a relevant and valid permit allowing them to stay and work in France.
Duties:
- Provide secretarial and administrative duties including translation of documents
- Diary management
- Provide interpretation services
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for the Embassy
- Coordinate Diplomatic and Social events
- Facilitate the procurement process of the Embassy
- Provide ad-hoc services in response to the organisational requirements

Job Title: Cleaner
Remuneration: € 19 323 – € 34 031
Requirements:
Minimum Five years of schooling, 2 years’ experience in cleaning an office environment.
The candidate must have basic knowledge of cleaning products and be able to operate cleaning machines. The candidate must have knowledge of efficient methods used in office cleaning and be able to work with minimum supervision. The candidate must be able to speak and write French and English. The candidate must have knowledge of France (and French culture) and Paris. Non-French candidates must have a relevant and valid permit allowing them to stay and work in France.
Duties:
- Provide cleaning services in and around the Embassy building (including being able to operate different cleaning machines).
- Manage the cleaning material stock including the replenishing thereof;
- Manage and maintain cleaning equipment;
- Prepare refreshments for office functions;
- Provide ad-hoc services in response to the organisational requirements;
