VACANT POSITION: TRANSLATOR/ INTERPRETER
The South African Embassy in Paris is seeking the service of qualified professionals, to occupy a full-time position of Translator/Interpreter (English to French and French to English).
Duties will include:
Translation of correspondence and official documents from French – English and English-French
Interpretation at official meetings and Embassy events
Maintain and update the Embassy website in both English and French
Administer the Embassy’s incoming email account in both English and French
Do research in both English and French texts, in support of Embassy activities.
Various ad-hoc tasks of the Embassy relating to maintaining effective communication in French and English through public, image building, Embassy events and media liaison.
Applicants must be in possession of a relevant four year certificate or degree qualification from an Interpretation/Translation Institution.
Minimum 3 years experience as an interpreter/translator
Minimum 2 years in an international environment, international organization or Embassy
Proficiency in both English and French
Proven research skills
Good communication skills
Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Database, Internet use)
Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work well within a team environment
Ability to accurately meet deadlines
Flexibility to work after hours and during weekends
Remuneration: minimum salary €30 884.00 Maximum salary €56 497– level 6
